Hello Team! I have some news and some education reminders. 1. We have our first company-wide meeting with our business coach on Thursday, March 28,at 9:00 am in Midtown. As promised, this will be an inspiring look at how the future HELMET will unfold. As long as I've owned this company, I've never been so excited about the future as I am now. I hope you will share in that with me. 2. For over a year, I have taken a guarded position with regard to my emotional accessibility to you. Over the last few weeks, I realized that I was in a position to open back up. I am happy to report that I am still feeling that way. 3. I would like to say thank you for the loyal support I have received recently. It's heartening to see team members taking ownership in how our salon is run, and the standards we continue to uphold and grow. It's a learning process for me as well. There is an ethical and right way of doing things, and our policies reflect that. As a matter of HR clarification, if you have questions or uncertainty regarding the policies that govern the sharing of proprietary information and/or private company records, including how they can lead to termination, I am open to discussing them with you. And remember you can always review our manual here>>> (login helmet pword hairworx). 4. Though most of you already know this, Erika is no longer with Helmet. Of course, as is our standard procedure, we show our appreciation to our loyal clients by offering them a complimentary haircut. I think a clarification is in order: the haircuts are complimentary for the client, but YOU are paid your normal commission for them. This is how it has been for the past year. Many of you have told me privately that you believe this to be unnecessary, but I accept that everyone looks at opportunity and generosity differently. I am happy to see you paid for the work you do honestly and diligently and in service to our mission. Thank you for understanding that our first priority MUST always be the comfort and service to our guests, especially when they have already demonstrated loyalty to our brand. 5. And speaking of a learning process for me, many thanks to Rexx Alexander for the suggestions he made about our vision statement. I have permanently removed the words "scarcity" and "weaknesses." I agree they detracted from the spirit of the statement. Here is our new and improved vision statement: At Helmet, our vision is to foster an environment of exceptional craftsmanship in a comfortable setting; to present a unified front at all times; to focus on abundance; to see our differences as strengths; and to understand that our brand is built on service, a purpose greater than our individual needs. 6.
